digestive models
Pancosma is the leading company in the use of digestive models as a predictive
tool to measure and record the mode of action of micro-encapsulated veterinary
drugs and feed additives. These systems together with a laboratory dedicated to
modern microbiology and cell culture techniques provide reliable and unique research
tools for Pancosma in the development of a new generation of feed additives such
as XTRACT.
quantitative descriptive analysis (QDA)
The sensorial properties of Pancosma palatants are evaluated by a unique technique
called Quantitative Descriptive Analysis (QDA).
Especially trained persons identify and evaluate different gustatory and sensory
characteristics of a product. The description of the different parameters measured
by QDA is configured in the form of a “spiders web”. The diagram below illustrates
the characteristics of Pancosma’s SUCRAM when compared to Sucrose and a competitor
product.

infra-red spectra of organic trace elements
There is a growing number of suppliers of organic sources of minerals,
with a large variability in the quality of products and some confusion on the
chemical identity of these compounds. Our Laboratory routinely carries out infra-red
analysis of products on the market. It enables the feed industry to get a clearer
picture of the quality of feed additives available today. Pancosma has a full
databank of more than 200 spectra.
